Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
