In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region. IRGC Statement Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday. That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership. Wider Impacts In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran. The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added. The statement noted debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities. The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
