Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
